COVID-19 – APRIL 22, 2020 UPDATE
Hello everyone, dear friends, colleagues and customers.

FEDERAL

Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS)

During Prime Minister Trudeau’s press briefings yesterday and today, we learned that eligible businesses will be able to subscribe to the 75% Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) starting Monday, April 27, 2020. Be patient, however, as it may take a little while for the money to be distributed, hence the usefulness of having access to the 40,000$ credit which helps cover expenses between now and the CEWS deposits. A calculator has been made available on canada.ca to estimate he amounts to which you may be entitled. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/subsidy/emergency-wage-subsidy.html

Good news!!!, for clients whom we are authorized to represent, it will be possible for us, via the CRA’s ‘’My Account – Representing a client’’ platform, to submit requests for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like us to help you in his regard.

Other measures :

  • 350 millions fund for community organizations and NPOs
  • Help for owners of commercial rental buildings who have difficulty collecting rent
  • Since students will have difficulty finding summer jobs, an Emergency Student Benefit will be available from May to August 2020 so that students can continue to pay their rents and groceries.

QUÉBEC

A plan to gradually reopen non-essential services is expected to be presented over the next week.

Another good news for all taxpayers who have hair… Hair salons are currently working on deconfinement measures that will be applicable to the reality on the ground.
